Conversation -Awkward/I am a Writer on a Mission with Real Realities

Hello Moms,

Let’s struggle together in this journey of autism. I haven’t written about my journey with my son in so long because he has been moving forward but also moving backward. The awkward moments are now rearing their heads with kids at parks, grocery stores and other public places. My son wants to talk to people but his conversation is often an awkward space to be present with him in.

So, this kid comes up to my son today and says, “what is your name?” Danny says, “my name is Danny.” He answers every question but doesn’t always show the correct facial gesturing or tones in his voice. But, for an awkward space when he flashes his smile everyone is there with him. Everyone is brought into his world, and it is a bright and happy place.
